DRAINO TRENDS THREE
DRAINO TRENDS THREE was spectacular. We had our first guests in Lucy (@LucyVoll) and Katarina Vollhoffer (@katariinawinemixer). Go to the bottom to see Katarina's Brooklyn vintage shop list, it's so good.
For those of you that missed it on my Instagram (@drainodrew), here’s a recap (you can also watch our discussion here):
1. The Lined Tank Top
Formerly known as the wife beater, the lined tank top has made its way back into our hearts for the warm seasons this year.
The lined tank is all about what you pair it with. High waisted pleated trouser shorts, for example, would bang with a lined tank.
Some high waisted jeans could work, but be sure to avoid looking like the Freddie Mercury Halloween costume that all the basic dudes decided to wear last year *SHOTS FIRED*
Lucy and Kat also talk about pairing their tanks with baggy, knee-length neon green shorts
2. Cute Tops with Sweats
Lucy fervently backed the trend of pairings of comfortwear bottoms (i.e. sweatpants) with cute tops like crop tops, polos, and statement pieces that you'd typically wear with a skirt or more formal pants.
Lucy kills this look- the photo will describe better than my words can. See more on her Instagram
She also draws inspiration from Anna Winck. Her page is very dope, and inline with the trends Lucy called out.
3. Bedazzle Errthang
Kat said it's time to bedazzle your belts, sunglasses, straps on your bags, you name it
This will pair super well with the rising preppy movement that's been moving to center stage over the past year or two.
All three of us shared our love for Western Wear, and then hearing the bedazzle trend from Kat made me think of Glenn Campbell, the Rhinestone Cowboy :)
🔥 KATARINA'S BROOKLYN VINTAGE GUIDE 🔥
WILLIAMSBURG
Arbor Vitae - truly the gem of all gems. understated and pieces def need a good wash, but prices define reasonable. Minimal curation which gives you the pride when you find multiple things (as I most almost always do) but not big enough to be overwhelming. 9/10 spinning good tunes.
The Attic - new and a lot of inventory for men and women with great prices. Abundance of coats—fur, leather, a line, trench, you name it, etc. etc.
Awoke - if you need a piece or want to try a trend but don’t want to pay an arm and a leg, go here. Though, prices on higher end for some pretty basic shit, so I really only spend here if I find something that’s truly unique or to serve a specific need / occasion (i.e. 1950’s Havana themed murder mystery party)
Horizons - incredibly curated down to racks characterized by aesthetic. mainly stop in for inspiration or sale rack because prices on higher side.
Stella Dallas - warehouse where you get to dig with decent prices. organized by style + colAmarcord - high end consignment, can skip unless you have $$ to spend.
Select Vintage Collection - high end consignment, amazing show collection. if you are in wb, you must stop in to feast your eyes. will buy a wedding dress here and it will be pink w daisies and meant to be work in the south of Italy.
GREENPOINT
Awoke - a few locations, this is less crowded than the wb one

The Breakers - excellently curated, v minimalist with affordable prices. a lot of suits + outerwear.
Mirth Vintage - beautiful pieces, on the pricier side, but always carrying what’s new. definitely look to their ig for inspo often.
Beacons - folks in greenpoint have style so if you are down to dig or know what you’re looking for, hit it up. huge inventory but can find great brands
Walk the West - fun and unique pieces, reasonably priced and staff is super helpful.
